SAGE's charter has been to develop, test and manufacture electrochromic glass products suitable for the building industry. Today they are the product leader in this relatively new field of electronically tintable glass.

The technology used to make SageGlass® electronically tintable products is an inorganic, solid-state approach. This is important for the following reason: Under the constantly fluctuating outdoor environment —sunlight, heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, barometric pressure, ultraviolet radiation— windows are exposed to an incredible amount of stress. Conversely, organic materials are known to break down when exposed to the sun. Other companies developing electronically tintable windows are using organic materials.
