Floor Mount
System 2200 provides total air conditioning for computer rooms, data processing, and telecommunications facilities, and is available in two types; air-cooled and chilled water.
Compu-Aire, Inc.
System 2200 Standard Features:
System 2200 Microprocessor-based Control Panel
The System 2200 microprocessor-based control panel (MCP) is a microprocessor-based controller with a front monitor, two rows X 20 character LCD display panel, and control keys for user inputs. The MCP is menu driven, with user-friendly prompts for easier operation.
The System 2200 MCP allows user review and programming of temperature and humidity set points, set-up selections, and alarm parameters. A password is required to make system changes, and the MCP is provided with self diagnostics. Microprocessor controller board(s) shall be diagnosed and reported as PASS/NO PASS.
Inputs for temperature, humidity, and time delay are displayed on the LCD. The MCP provides monitoring of room conditions, operational status, component run times, date and time, and two analog inputs from field sensors (provided by others).
The MCP control system allows programming of Temperature Set Point (40° F to 85° F), Temperature Sensitivity (+`1° F to +9.9° F in 0.1° F increments), Humidity Set Point (20% to 80% RH), and Humidity Sensitivity (+1% to 30%RH). All set points are adjustable from the unit front panel. Temperature, and humidity, and sensors can be calibrated from the front panel.
System 2200 MCP provides:
Predictive Humidity Control: by calculating the moisture content in the room, by responding to changes to dew-point temperature.
System Auto-Restart: for start-up after power failure, automatic restart is provided with a field adjustable delay up to 9.9 minutes in 6-second increments.
Sequential Load Activation: after power failure, or during start-up, the System 2200 MCP will sequence operational load activation.
Automatic Compressor Sequencing: automatically changes the lead/lag sequence of the compressors after each start.
Compressor Short-Cycle Control: prevents compressor short-cycling by a field adjustable, three minute timer.
The System 2200 MCP activates a visual and audible alarm in the event of any malfunction. The audible alarm shall annunciate the following alarms as desired by the operator:
- Compressor overload No. 1 and No. 2
- High and low head pressure No. 1 and No. 2
- High and low room temperature
- High and low room humidity
- Short cycle, fan overload, manual override, humidifier problem
- Change filters, loss of air flow
- Four custom alarms (Each alarm can be field programmed to be enabled or disabled, selected to activate the common alarm, and programmed for a time delay.)
The common alarm for the MCP is field programmable to interface with user-selected alarms, with a remote alarm device.
Firestat
Firestat is mounted in the return air section. When return air temperature exceeds 105° F, it immediately de-energizes the system and displays an alarm condition. (Required by electrical codes in certain localities.)
Support Systems
System 2200 is equipped with battery back-up, to maintain programmed set points and sensitivities, in case of power interruption.
Remote Monitoring (optional)
System 2200 allows for continuous remote monitoring and control of the environment. The microprocessor control panel can be provided with RS485, two-wire interface, or RS232 port, three-wire interface with Compu-Aire "ENVIRO-SCAN". This feature allows control and alarm functions of one or more air conditioners to be remotely monitored and controlled.
A-Frame Coil
System
2200 has two DX cooling circuits provided with high-efficiency fins and larger coil face area. The coil has been designed to provide the maximum sensible-heat ratio required by computer rooms, and at the same time minimize energy used in air circulation.
Every System 2200 is equipped with two drain pans. The primary drain pan is stainless steel and is provided under each coil. The secondary, and emergency drain pan is provided at the base of the unit. This provides double protection against any water reaching the sub-floor and affecting the computer cables.
Multiple Compressors
Each System 2200 is equipped with two high-efficiency hermetic, or optional semi-hermetic compressors or scroll compressors, located in a separate compartment outside the air stream, for ease of service access during unit operation. Each compressor is provided with:
- Built-in thermal overload protection
- Rotolock space valves
- Crankcase heaters
Refrigerant Circuit
Each refrigerant circuit is provided with:
- An externally equalized expansion valve
- Sight glass with moisture indicator
- Filter drier
- Pump-down cycle (air cooled units)
- Schraeder fittings
- igh-pressure switch
- Low-pressure switch
- Hot-gas bypass when required
- Suction accumulator when required
Fully-insulated Cabinet
The System 2200 cabinet is constructed of 14 gauge, 1.5 square inch heliarc-welded tubular steel for strength and protection. Front access is made easy for servicing via well-insulated access panels. 1" thick 1.5 lb. density insulation is utilized. The cabinet has decorative front and side panels which can be color-coordinated with the decor of the computer room.
Multistage Electric Reheat Saves Energy
Compu-Aire is concerned about energy conservation, which is why System 2200 standard reheat is provided in two, three, and four stages. Each element is finned, tubular-type, low watt density design for extended life.
Dehumidification Cycle
High humidity can cause moisture to accumulate on paper media, resulting in handling problems. When System 2200 is switched to the dehumidification mode, the reheat provided has sufficient capacity to maintain computer room dry-bulb conditions.
Maintenance-free Humidifier
Each System 2200 is provided with a pre-piped and pre-wired electronic electrode, self-generating steam-type humidifier. Completely maintenance free, the humidifier is equipped with a disposable cylinder. Vapor produced is piped directly into the bypass air for efficient moisture introduction into the air stream.
High-voltage Control Panel
Each System 2200 is equipped with a high voltage panel containing the following components:
- Disconnect switch contractors
- Relays
- Fuse blocks
- Fuses
- Transformers
- Branch circuit protection for all components
- Terminal blocks
Locking-type Disconnect Switch
Mounted on the high-voltage section of the electrical panel. Access to high voltage is permitted after the switch is in the off position.
Low Noise Level Fan
System 2200 has DWDI blowers mounted on a fan deck. The fan section features the following:
- Permanently lubricated ball bearings
- Dual belt variable pitch drive
- Fan deck for improved air flow
- Draw-through airflow for even air distribution
Easy Access to Filters
System 2200 has standard 2" thick pleated media high efficiency filters which are serviceable from the top or either side.
